The Schwartz Art Collection: Portal to the World
The connection between art and business education runs deep at HBS where the Schwartz Art Collection surrounds students with 300 modern art pieces around campus."It not only brightens up your day. It forces you to think," says David Chan, MBA 2016 and Student Art Society CFO. Gerald Schwartz, MBA 1970, and a team from Harvard Business School in 1995 began purchasing contemporary art in order to inspire students to think creatively and incorporate art into their lives. As Schwartz recalled, "Artistic presence was the only thing missing at HBS when I went there. I wanted to change that."
