Tom Theobald (MBA 1960) was a dedicated donor and volunteer for HBS who has committed his philanthropy to the upgrading of the outdoor gathering spaces across the campus by creating welcoming gathering places for MBA students, faculty and staff.

Enhancing Outdoor Gathering Spaces

A 1995 Alumni Achievement award recipient and commercial banking leader, Tom Theobald (MBA 1960) was a past member of the Alumni Board of Directors, Board of Dean’s Advisors, HBS Visiting Committee and also served as Chair of his class reunion campaigns. Through Tom’s generosity, numerous spaces across campus have enhanced including several dormitory patios and courtyard and most notably, the courtyard between Spangler and Aldrich Hall, which has become a vibrant gathering spot for students between classes. The addition of benches, tables and chairs, new plantings, and walkways have made this an inviting and attractive space that also serves as the location for numerous MBA events and alumni reunions.
